            "@value": "บทความนี้กล่าวถึงประวัติการเรียนรู้ของ สมเด็จเจ้าพระยาบรมมหาศรีสุริยวงศ์ (ช่วง บุนนาค) ผู้ซึ่งดำรงตำแหน่งเป็น ผู้สำเร็จราชการแผ่นดิน ในช่วงต้นรัชสมัยของรัชกาลที่ 5 ท่านมีความโดดเด่นด้านการสื่อสาร ภาษาอังกฤษ และความเชี่ยวชาญในการ ต่อเรือกำปั่น ซึ่งเป็นวิชาที่รับการถ่ายทอดมาจาก มิชชันนารีชาวอเมริกัน ในขณะที่คนไทยส่วนใหญ่ยุคก่อนยังมีความระแวงต่อชาวตะวันตก แต่ท่านกลับแสวงหาความรู้สมัยใหม่จนกลายเป็นที่ยอมรับในระดับสากล นอกจากนี้บทความยังระบุถึง บุคคลสำคัญท่านอื่น ๆ เช่น รัชกาลที่ 4 และรัชกาลที่ 4 พระองค์ที่สอง ที่ทรงศึกษาศาสตร์แขนงต่าง ๆ จากฝรั่งไปพร้อมกันด้วย การเรียนรู้ภาษาและเทคโนโลยีจากต่างชาตินี้เองที่เป็นปัจจัยสำคัญในการพัฒนาและรักษาความมั่นคงของสยามในยุคนั้น"
