As the automotive sector undergoes rapid technological  advancements and market shifts, understanding the mechanisms that driveR&Dinnovation performance is particularly crucial. This study employs a mixed-methodsapproach, incorporating both qualitative in-depth interviews and  uantitativedataanalysis to ensure a comprehensive investigation. A total of 407 valid samples werecollected from R&D managers across key enterprises in Jiangsu Province, a major hubfor China's auto parts industry. To analyze the data, descriptive statistics, factor  analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling (SEM) were applied.\nThe research findings indicate the following: (1) Transformational leadershipplays a pivotal role in enhancing the innovation performance of R&D teams; however, its influence is primarily exerted through the creation of an organizational innovationclimate and the promotion of knowledge-sharing behaviors rather than throughdirectimpact alone. (2) A strong innovation climate significantly improves the efficiencyandeffectiveness of innovation activities, fostering an environment where novel ideas canbe developed and implemented successfully. Meanwhile, knowledge sharing, althoughbeneficial, has a comparatively weaker direct effect on innovation performance. (3) Organizations aiming to maximize R&D innovation performance should not onlyemphasize transformational leadership behaviors but also focus on cultivatingasupportive innovation environment and strengthening structured knowledge-sharingmechanisms to enhance overall innovation outcomes. These findings provide valuable theoretical and managerial implications for companies seeking to optimize their R&D team performance in a rapidly evolvingtechnological landscape.
